Estes Extras...

Spring Break is here... Can you believe it? Let's hope the weather is good all next week. I wish y'all a restful week off. I'm planning on resting up and doing some deep cleaning here in the classroom and at home. We had a great week. We dove right into our spring unit! I love this unit! We will be continuing this unit for the rest of April. Doughnuts for Dads was awesome on Wednesday! Thanks for all they dads who came! We had a great Brainstorm. In Mrs. Cronan's class, we learned about art through motion. In Mrs. Bell's class, we learned about art and made a coffee filter flower. In Mrs. Porter's class, we learned about the parts of a flower and made a cute diagram of a flower with actual sunflower seeds! In my room we learned about mountain math and made a clock! Oh so fun!

I did not send home an April homework packet yet. The kids have worked so hard, I wanted to give them a week off. But keep reading and working on your sight words, rhyming words, word families, writing, blending sounds and math facts. I will send home a new homework packet/reading log and behavior chart on next Monday.

Specials for next week: Monday: Music, Tuesday: P.E., Wednesday: Spanish, Thursday: Art, Friday: P.E.

A date to remember: APRIL 19th 5:00-9:00pm at Yogo-ono, off Chastain Road! KCSMA is having a fundraiser night. The class with the most class participation gets a prize! See you there! :)

Academic Update:

Literacy:
We started a new unit this week called: Spring! We made the cutest rain boots and kites to get our room ready for spring!

Math: We are still in our chapter on graphing. We will have our math test at the end of next week.

Science: Elianna's dad came and taught us an awesome lesson on magnets. Some of his magnets were bigger than our little hands! The class LOVED it! Pictures will come soon! We have also been talking a lot about plants and parts of a plant.

Have a great week off, rest up and enjoy your time off! :)
